Fran's Testimony
I have been blind since birth. As a little
child, I grew up in the Catholic faith. I went to Mass and even walked
in the May procession. I have always felt close to God, but did not
really know Him. At 23, I heard the story of Salvation and how Jesus
died for me on the Cross. The story of Jesus sacrifice for me became
personal. I wanted Jesus to be my Savior. I accepted Christ after my
roommate Charlene, ( a good Baptist) led me to the Truth.. My
journey didn't stop there, I began learning more and more about His
Word, How I fit into His plan for me. I kept seeking Him, going to Bible
churches, was baptized in a
Church
of
Christ
in
California
. I married, had 3 sons, was raising a family when circumstances led me
through a harrowing but wonderful journey. As a result, I enrolled at
Dallas Theological Seminary at age 40, became a single mom shortly
after. My husband didn't want to accompany me on this journey. During my
years at seminary, I drew closer to the Lord in studying His!
Word and evangelical doctrine. But really I fell in love with
Jesus and His Word. I hungered after His Word and knowing Him. I have
been out of school ten+ years and have begun a new chapter in my walk
with Jesus. I was introduced to the Holy Spirit by several friends. I
was re-baptized in Jesus Name, and now attend a church in
Dallas
where I am learning to worship Him in a whole new way. God has blessed
me all my life, he has blessed me with good friends, fulfilling work,
family that I love. Most of all He has blessed me with Our close
relationship which I hope to never take for granted. My life verse is
Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you declares the
Lord,...." I desire only to continue to wait upon the Lord, serve
Him where He wants me to. I don't think I make any real impact on
people, because ultimately, I'm not demonstrative. Pretty shy. But I
want Jesus to shine through and make whatever impact on lives that He
leads me to.
